Steam Gala

Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October

Our 2026 Steam Gala is taking place on 24 and 25 October. To mark the occasion, an intensive four-train timetable will run with 12 departures on Saturday and 11 on Sunday, featuring rare dusk running for the first time in many years.

The timetable for the event is available here.

Visiting Locomotives & Twinning Celebration

Alongside the home fleet, visiting guest engines will join the roster.

Announcement 4 - 07/10/26

Joining us at Stonehenge Works Station will be German traction engine Kemna No. 4327, built in 1918.
This year, the engine has also recently completed an epic journey from Sussex, through London, all the way up to Old Warden for the Bedfordshire Steam and County Fayre!
A huge thank you to Michael for bringing the engine along and helping make our gala even more special.

Announcement 3 - 03/10/26

We’re thrilled to announce that Andrew Barclay No. 1919 (1931) “Cegin” is joining us for the Steam Gala.

A massive thank you to the team at Statfold Barn Railway & Museum for making this possible. We can’t wait to welcome this fantastic locomotive.

"Cegin" will be steaming alongside our resident Barclays, "Doll" and "Gertrude." Having three Andrew Barclays in steam together is an absolute first, making this an unmissable sight for the weekend!

Announcement 2 - 30/09/26

We’re delighted to announce that S7 ‘WDLR303’ Hunslet No.’ 1215 of 1916 will be visiting.

We are very grateful to The War Office Locomotive Trust and Apedale Valley Light Railway for giving us the opportunity to welcome this wonderful locomotive back to the railway. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity for the locomotive to join our gala lineup for the weekend.

The locomotive last visited us in 2019 shortly after it returned to steam for the first time in preservation for our 100th anniversary gala.

Announcement 1 - 09/09/26

The first confirmed guest is Decauville No. 246 of 1897 Victory, courtesy of the Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway. Built in France, Victory plays a central role in this year's special theme: celebrating the 25th anniversary of the railway's twinning with the P'tit Train de la Haute Somme. Expect a variety of themed activities across the weekend honoring this French connection.
